Rochdale is a Town in the county of Greater Manchester.

Rochdale is a large town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies in a wide valley at the foothills of the South Pennines on the River Roch.

Rochdale rose to prominence in the 19th century as a mill town and centre for textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution.

Today, Rochdale is made up of urban areas, suburbs, semi-rural and rural locations, but is predominantly a residential town.

Rochdale’s Town Hall, a Grade I listed building dating from 1871, is one of the finest examples of Victorian Gothic revival architecture, in the United Kingdom. The Town Hall, along with a number of former cotton mills and seven large tower blocks, nicknamed ‘The Seven Sisters’, mark Rochdale’s skyline.
