West Bradford in Lancashire

West Bradford is a Town in the county of Lancashire.

West Bradford is a small, traditional looking village beside the River Ribble in Lancashire.

The river here is wide and shallow when not in flood and has several places where old stepping stones used as river crossings can be seen.

There are two road bridges on either side of the village, to the west being of an authentic looking stone construction, however Bradford Bridge is early 20th Century and replaces a much older wooden footbridge. Heavier traffic used an old ford just upstream. The road bridge to the East, near Grindleton is modern but is on the site of an older stone bridge.
