The Grotto at Croome
A ‘grotto’ beside the lake at Croome.
Constructed of vermiculated stone in around 1795, possibly by James Wyatt. The grotto features three rough stone, arched recesses one of which houses a Nymph statue made of Coade stone. There is also a Coade stone plaque inscribed in Latin.
