Morecambe

A typical northern seaside town, now sadly lacking it’s once popular theme park but retaining its fantastic views across the bay to the Lakeland peaks.

The theme park - of late known as Frontierland was closed around 2000 after operating for almost a century.

There is a very popular statue of the much-loved comic Eric Morecambe on the seafront promenade along with a great number of smaller sculptures adorning the surrounding gardens.

The views from Morcambe seafront are spectacular and there is now a large installation in the form of a giant viewfinder listing many of the prominent mountains and landmarks which can be seen across Morecambe Bay on all but the bleakest days.
