Margate

Margate

Margate is a popular seaside town located in Kent, South East England. It is situated on the northern coastline of the Thames Estuary at a point where it meets the North Sea. It was a popular seaside resort as far back as the Georgian era and by the early nineteenth century it had become one of England’s most popular resorts.

The history of Margate can be traced all the wayback to the Iron Age where evidence of human habitation has been discovered in caves above the town.

Margate Amusements

Margate has a tradition of fun and entertainment, with attractions such as Viking Splash Tours (where participants ride on jet-powered inflatable rafts), The Old Town areas, the Margate Shell Grotto (a chalk cave adorned thousands of tiny shells), all adding to its popularity. It is also home to the Dreamland amusement park, which reopened in 2015.
