Kirklees

Kirklees is a metropolitan borough located in West Yorkshire, England. Formed in 1974 as a result of the Local Government Act 1972, it amalgamated several former local government districts and boroughs, including Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley, and several other smaller settlements. This rich tapestry of communities lends Kirklees its diverse cultural and historical identity.

The town of Huddersfield, which is the largest settlement within Kirklees, is renowned for its rich industrial heritage, particularly in the textiles sector. It boasts magnificent Victorian architecture and is home to the University of Huddersfield, which attracts students from all over the world.
