Abbeystead Reservoir by munki-boy

Abbeystead Reservoir

A nice reservoir with picnic areas and a spectacular outflow.

Walks around vary as one side can be overgrown and the other side many stiles to cross.

There is a nice little area to stop around the weir pending completion of major works including a new fish pass.

Interestingly, Abbeystead Reservoir is at the confluence of the rivers Tarnbrook Wyre and Marshaw Wyre, downstream known as River Wyre.

Abbeystead Reservoir is in Forest Of Bowland AONB, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
