Latin name: Anthocharis cardamines

The Orange-Tip male butterfly is unmistakeable, but the female can be mistaken for other white butterflies, unless the mottled underside is on show. Can be seen from April to June in many habitats. Favours woodland margins and damp grasslands, but can also be found in gardens. Feeds on cruciferous plants including, garlic, mustard, garden honesty and cuckoo flower.
