Kestrel

Kestrel

Latin name: Falco tinnunculus

The Kestrel is said to have declined in recent years but they are often seen hovering over moorland and fields. Kestrels are also seen frequently along large roads and motorways where they hunt along the verges. There is little size differences between male and female but the male Kestrel has a blue-grey head, while the female is brown as shown here.
