Borage
Latin name: Borago officinalis
Borage also known as a starflower, has bristly or hairy stems and ovate, alternate leaves, with branched clusters of starry, bright blue five-petalled flowers. Flowers can also be pink and sometimes white.
It has a long flowering period, from May to September and can be seen on waste ground, waysides and cultivated land.
Borage is widespread, particularly in England.
