Cuerden Country Park by munki-boy

Cuerden Valley Park

A spacious country park containing Cuerden Hall, built by Lewis Watt for Robert Townley Parker and completed in 1819 and surrounding parkland. The hall is now home to the Sue Ryder charity and a new visitor centre for the park is nearing completion a short walk to the south.

Cuerden Valley Park has a lot of open grassland along the Cuerden Brook together with a small lake. There are also areas of nature reserve and small woodland of which the Beech were part of the original landscaping for the hall gardens. In modern times the M65 motorway passes across the northernmost section of the park.

Cuerden Valley Park is great for strolling and dog walks.
